It is amazing how things can happen so quickly. One moment you think that you are on top of the world and the next you can be in hospital. In talking with a friend I was to discover that this person had been in hospital with a heart attack. It all happened so quickly and it was something that he was not expecting. After all, why should it happen to him. Life had been treating him well and that all was well in life for him. But then things can change ever so fast and then the next thing you know is that you in trouble with your health. And for us all, in so many ways, it is amazing how that things can change ever so fast. I am reminded of this fact with what is happening in the world at the moment. And it has been interesting how that very quickly governments around the world have moved to shut the boarders down and put things into place to stop the spreading of this problem.
It only takes a moment is the title of this parable, and really how true that is for life. It does only take a moment for things to happen and once they do, there is no going back. You cannot play that moment over again. You cannot start again. The moment is gone forever. But just as it only takes a moment for bad things to happen the same can be said for good things too. Think about it….it only takes a moment to say I love you. It only takes a moment to show someone that you care. It only takes a moment to phone a friend and to be there for them. Yes, it may only take a moment, but are you willing to give of that moment? Are you willing to give to someone that moment today and to be there for them?
