How often we hear the words that someone we know is not as committed as we would like them to be. But have you ever thought about what it means to have commitment? To be committed to a cause is a good thing. To have a goal to aim for is good too. I cannot help but think about people who proved to be committed over the years. There are the explorers who were willing to risk all to take to the waters of the sea not really knowing what was out there and yet being willing to go and to face the elements to find the answers. We think about what we do but the point is that we are only building on what has gone before. And when you think about what those who went before had at their disposal I can only stand in awe at what they were able to achieve.
But then I think about the One who came and was willing to die on a cross. What we need to remember is that He did know what was ahead, and yet was willing to still commit to coming to this planet anyway. I wonder if we would have that same commitment to a cause? Would we be willing to still stand up and be counted? And yet the reality is that He was willing to come for all. Because He could have that kind of commitment for you, then what are you willing to do for Him?
Something for us all to ponder at this time. Until next time may you each be kept safe in His care.
