These last few days we have been watching the tennis. There have been a few late nights and we are all feeling a little weary. In fact very weary! In looking at the matches we admire again the dedication of the players and what they do to be in the best shape possible as they face each match that they have to face. We see also the fact that no one lasts forever and that for some the time is fast approaching when they will need to think about retirement. We see that for some hopes are dashed and that they then have to pick themselves up to be ready for the next tournament that will come along.
But for those who do very well, the one thing that stands out is their willingness to do all that is possible to be in the best shape possible for the match. They are very careful with their diet. That have a set routine of exercises to make them fit and we wonder as to how they do it. But the point is this. They see before them a prize that is worth fighting for, and they will do all they can to be fit to take out the crown. But there is one thing we need to remember. That the crown that they are fighting for is a crown that will one day fade away. The crown does not last forever. And so here is the challenge for us all to consider. In the Bible there is a crown that is being offered to us all. It is a special crown, and the best part is that it will not fade away. Now that is good news for us all to consider at this time. A crown that will not fade away.
When you think about it this is a wonderful thing to know and to consider. So what do you think about such a crown?
Something for us all to ponder at this time. Until next time may you each be kept safe in His care.
