I would like to ask you a question for this day. When danger comes your way, do you remember to pray? Do you expect that your prayers will be answered? The thing that we need to remember is that we can only expect prayers to be answered when we take the time to build up a relationship with the One who made us and put all things together. But yesterday I had an experience that brought fear to my heart and I knew that I needed to pray. I was travelling along in my car. Up at the front was a B-double and then there was a car in front of me and a car behind me. I was thinking that maybe we would be in for a long drive as the road was narrow and I thought that maybe the truck would gather up speed. But then he gave the indication for the car in front of me to pass. The car did get pass and he kept giving the same indication to me that I should also pass.
So I started out to pass. Keep in mind that a B-double is a long truck. I was two thirds pass the truck when I saw a car coming the other way. I quickly increased my speed and just got through and at that time I looked through the rear view mirror and saw the car behind me pulling up quickly and pulling in behind the truck. It was a scary moment for us all. And yes, I did pray for protection and I gave a prayer of thanks for when the danger was over. I must admit that my heart was beating a bit heavier and faster to usual.
In thinking about what happened at a later time I could not help but appreciate anew the fact that we do have a Father in Heaven who we can pray to in time of trouble. And I know that He was there for me that day. And what a blessing it would prove to be. To know that I could pray to my Father in Heaven and that he would hear. And the great news for us all to appreciate is that He is only a prayer away for any of us. And that includes you a well as me.
Something for us all to ponder at this time. Until next time may you each be kept safe in His care.
