The car was started up
And then I started out
With the road under my feet
This trip was wonderful
The miles were put behind me
And the way was good and nice
I was soon getting close to home
To family that I hold so dear.
Passing paddocks on the way
And hills and valleys too
The streams that flowed along the way
I went over them one by one
But home was up ahead
And I would not be deterred
For this was where I wanted to be
For home was the place for me.
