Do you know
Do you see
That my breath is coming slower
That my back is stooped
And my legs are bent
That maybe the end is near.
I am older now
I am slowing down
The years have taken their toll
And so for me
My wish this day
That my end will be peaceful and quick.
But do not mourn
Do not fret
We are only saying goodbye
For there is
A God above
Who watches over all.
For death is just a sleep
A rest from a job well done
So should I sleep
And take my rest
Waiting for that wonderful day
To meet with all who have accepted His gift of grace.
