How we all have hoped
And we all did pray
For the day when it would rain
But the sun would shine
And the heat did rise
No rain was to be in sight.
But, Oh the joy
When lying in bed
And the sound of rain we did hear
It had come! It had come!
The rain had finally come
And what joy to all it did bring.
And so this moment
We all do pray
Will last for more than one night
For the rain we do need
And then more for the future
May it fill the dams and the drains.
