They come and go
They stand so tall
And even though they do not stay
Their message is ever new
How they gently move
And sway in the breeze
And with the time they gently tease
For all too soon the time does come
That then they are no more.
But for that time
They are ever green
How we marvel at the sight
Yet in time they are no more
Their task is done, no more to do
And so we stand and mark the time
For how the seasons do move on
And with that time now gone from view
We wait again for buds anew.
But soon that day will yet once more
Come round to greet another year
And our spirits will rise
With joy in the heart
What wonderful moments to see
But greater will be when that day appears
When the maker of all will come back
He will take us home to that place prepared
How special that day will be.
