There she stood
With sun going down
Shivering with cold
And being not that bold
Old before her years
With heart full of tears
Longing for a hand
A touch of tender love.
Going down the street
She walks to a beat
That tells the story of her life
That had been full of strife
With mother gone and missing
And father no longer listening
How alone this girl doth feel
Alone without a hope.
And yet we turn
We walk away
No longer can we stay
For she may cry
And she may sigh
For this we cannot face
And so we walk, we walk away
The sun is set, the night is come.
But wait
Don't leave her there
Go, take her hand
And lead her on
And give her hope
Where there is none
That she may face another dawn
That brings new rays……of light and love.
