There is one thing that I have learnt about trains. They will not wait for you. If you are wanting to be on that train then there is only one thing to do. That is to be on time. It is amazing to watch people run to catch the train at the last minute and expect that it will wait for you. The truth is that it will not do this .
I remember one time that I had to catch the train in a hurry. All I had was 20 minutes to pack the case and to go to the station to be on that train. How I had to move quick! There was no choice but to be very quick. It is amazing as to what you can do in a hurry. And the wonderful thing is that I made it. I remember sitting on that train and taking a deep breath and just being amazed that I had made it. But within one and a half minutes that train was pulling out.
As I think about this I am reminded of a true point. We hear people sing about the gospel train. And I must admit that some of the songs that are sung are very good. While the return of Jesus will not be with a train but the fact is very clear. Jesus will not wait for you any more than the train you try to catch each time to go to the train station. To miss the train that is going down the line is not good. But to miss the event of Jesus will be even worse. Just as I pray that you will never miss a train so I also pray that you will never be late for the Master either. The Master that I am referring to is the Creator of the Universe, yes and that includes this world.
