I guess that looking at the title that you may wonder as to what is coming your way this day. It is amazing as to what you find out about people when you go to a funeral. I know that it is always good to hear the message from the minister but the best part is always hearing the life story of the person that is gone. And in hearing the story you find out things that you never knew about the person. Over the last few weeks I have been to a couple of funerals and the story of the person's life has been interesting. And now that they are gone we still have to go on in our own lives.
Yes, it is true that we never know the full story of another person's life. But each life is special and needs to be seen that way. And that means that your life is special and interesting too. What I am reminded of also is that life is not a dress rehearsal and that we only get one go at it. So what we need to do is to make the best of each day that we are given. To touch a life and to make a change and to make the world a better place for us being here.
So I have a question for you to consider for this day. What would the person reading out the life sketch have to say about you? Would they be saying words that would praise you up or would they be talking about chances that were lost? Would we all walk out wishing that we knew you a little bit better or would we walk out thinking something else? I guess that for all of us the challenge is that we live our lives the best way that we can and make the best of every day that is given to us. Something for us all to think about, don't you think?
