I guess that looking at this title you may wonder if I am going to talk about the traffic rules or what! And it seems that there are so many rules in this life that you begin to wonder if they really do have a place or can I just do things my way. The reason for this title is that I have just a few moments ago taken the time to look at what went into being a ball person at the tennis tournament in England. It was amazing as to what they had to go through just to be a part of that event. It was six months of hard training and there were many rules that had to be kept.
As I was taking this all in the thought did cross both the minds of my wife and I. Here we see these young people doing all this training and they were willing to do it. And yet the reality of it all is that it was just an event. But what about the game of life. What about the reality of the fact that this earth will one day come to an end. Do we really take the time to equip ourselves so that we will be ready for such a time as that.
It was also interesting to note that out of the many that lines up to be in the running for that moment of being a ball person only a few made the grade. And to do that they had to be up to the standard of obeying the rules and being fit for the position. And they were willing to do it. Why? They had their eye on the prize of being a part of the event. What about us today? Do we also have our eye on the prize that is before us for eternity? Something for us all to consider.
