I have been away a few days and now I am home. It is good to be home again and that is good. But an interesting thing has happened that I have only found out about. That being that I am loved. You may think that this is nothing new. But let me now tell you about it in detail and where that love is coming from. A few years ago we started feeding the sparrows and they responded to that little happening. They loved the fact that there was wheat put out for them every day. The fact is that the only one who would do the feeding was me. And so I guess that they got used to looking at me and with that came trust.
But the last few days I was away and that meant that the feeding was done by my wife. And this was where the problem began. And the sparrows were keen that the feeding was done by me. And so they went on strike and would not eat the evening meal. In the morning it was not a problem as the feed was put out early and so they did not see my wife put it out but in the evening it was a different matter.
But now I am back and they are happy. All things are back to normal and they are all happy to eat the wheat when is put out. And here lies a lesson. Who do we look up to with trust? Have we reached the point where we look up to our Master in Heaven with trust and know that we are safe in His care? For it is in His care that we are safe and He wants to keep us safe in His care for all time. So let us trust Him and love Him this and every day.
