It is interesting how that some things stay the same even though the years have gone by. And this event I am going to share with you happened a few weeks ago when I was down the street. It had been a wet day and there were a few puddles lying around. And there was a young mother with a couple of young children and they were walking up the street coming towards me.
But as they were coming up towards me it became obvious that one of the children was wanting to jump into the puddle. At first glance this may seem a little bit out of order but the fact is that they were all wearing gumboots. It could be said that they were dressed for the task they wanted to do. And to the credit of the mother she was willing for the child to have a big jump into the puddle, joining in with her child in the excitement of doing that big jump and landing in that puddle.
Thinking back on it later, I could not help but wonder at what I had seen. And not only that but to appreciate the fact that the simple things in life do not have to cost a lot of money. The child was happy. The mother was happy to let the child do the jumping, and what they would not have known is that they also brought joy to someone looking on. Message to consider, it does not have to cost a lot of money to be happy, and that applies to everyone, even children.
