You may wonder as to what I am getting at here. But the fact is that we are seeing the return of the sparrow to our place as the winter is drawing near again for the year. It is amazing how a simple thing can turn into something special. A couple of years ago (or more) we started to feed the sparrow of an evening and they really enjoyed it. As the time went by they knew that there was food to be had with us. And the wonderful thing is that they know when they need the food.
What do I mean by this? When the summer times comes around they seem to go away and get their own food. After all there is plenty of food there for them to have in the spring time and the summer. But with the winter coming on they then find that food is a little hard to find. But for the ones around where we live they remember that there is a place where food can be had and they do not have to look for it. And the best thing is that for us the food is not that dear to buy. And we have the fun of planting just a little wheat that grows up into something that looks good, and when the times comes for the wheat to be harvested we say that it is time for the harvesters to come and to do their work.
And yes, they do come and harvest the wheat. But now they are around the place again for another winter. And we shall feed them and get to know their antics all over again. It is so special that we have this event every year and we look forward to it. But I think that there is a lesson we could learn from this. Just as the sparrows trust and know that we will feed them for the winter, do we have the same belief in our Father in Heaven, that he will do the same for us each day? The answer is that He will….if we only put our faith in Him each day.
