At the beginning of the week I was on a train. And the trip went very well both ways. The thing I notice about the train is that there is no delay. When the time comes for the train to take off for the trip there is no second chance. You are either on the train or not. And along with the trip is the fact that you must have a ticket. Some have tried to board without a ticket, only to find that their journey ended at the next station when they were ordered to leave the train.
And I am amazed at how quickly the train can go. In talking to a person that I know about these things, I find that the train that I travel on can go at speeds up to 160 km. Which is not too bad. But the fact remains that the trains that were going along the rail about 100 years ago did the trip just as quick. Way back then the trains could do the trip in one hour. Today, it is a good trip for the train to do it in the same time. I wonder what the problem is for us all today. So much for things getting quicker and efficient.
But in this I see a lesson. That you need to be at the train on time to get on board. And add to that is the fact that you also need to have a correct ticket. Without either of the two elements mentioned, you will be in trouble. And the same principle applies to getting to heaven as well. You need to know Jesus for yourself. And He needs to be in your heart as a friend. Without that you will never be on the trip that will take you to heaven. Something for us all to think about.
