It is amazing what you can see as you go through life. And when you see something that is amusing it is good to share it with others. And so I share this story with you today. I was down the street and paying a bill. we all know what it is like to do that chore. But it is a chore that must be done and so it was so.
And so there I was pulled up at the Post Office when it happened. I was walking towards the door of the Post Office when a postie pulled up on his trusty bike. But looking up I was amazed to see a lot of squawking in the tree just outside the Post Office door. Looking up I saw a magpie siting there and waiting for the postie to come out. And when he did come out the maggie screamed all the louder telling him to get a move on. After all she had no time to waste and wanted to get on with the important job of swooping. And so as the poor postie rode away on his bike the magpie made sure that he was given a good send off.
Thinking about what happened made me stop and think. Even though you could say that this was a rather unfortunate situation the fact remains that the magpie was being very faithful to its duty. And going inside I found out that the magpie only swooped the postie on his bike. And that it had been faithful to this situation for a number of years. I guess that we could ask ourselves a question. Are we that faithful to doing the things that really matter or do we give up easily? maybe we could learn to be faithful like the magpie and be faithful to the things that really matter. Something to think about, don’t you agree.
