There we were doing some work that had to be done and then all of a sudden I found that I had to be somewhere and that I had to catch the train. And then the question that we asked ourselves was but how long to the next train?
My wife made a quick look on the internet and discovered that all that I had was twenty minutes to the next train and I knew that I had to be on it. So there I was and I packed my bags in five minutes and then ten minutes to the train. It was a mad dash all the way and when I got to the station the train was already sitting at the station. I made the dash across and sat on the train with only two minutes to spare and nothing more.
So what lesson can I learn from this? To appreciate the value of time. Not just time but the time that we have available to us for each day. And more than that is the fact that when you know that the train is pulling out in twenty minutes then there is only one thing for us all to do. Be ready!! Deep in our hearts we all know that the world is coming to an end but we all like to think that we can put it off for a while. That is so dangerous to do. For when the end comes there will be no warning and the will be no extra time given for people to get their act together. The train would not have waited for me if I was late. And arriving at the station after it had gone would have been pointless. I had to get there to be on that train. So the message is clear. Be ready now so you do not miss out for the great day when He shall return from above. He will not wait for you to get ready then, just as the train would not have waited for me if I was late.
