We were out having a walk when we became aware that something was following just behind us. At first it was just behind Ruth and then it was just behind me. And what was that you may ask? It was a dog, or more to the point it was a Border Collie.
So why would a dog like this bring back memories. The answer is very simple. Growing upon a farm we had Border Collie dogs and they were so very good with the sheep. Asking the owner I found that this dog before me was more of a pet than a working dog. But she told me that the dog was still into rounding up everything.
So what is the lesson from all of this? Very simple. Even though the dog was only a pet she still knew the skills of doing the job that she was designed to do. There had been put into her heart that she was to do this thing. And she was very good at doing it too. I remember the dogs that we had. They were working dogs and very good at it too. As we take in the wonders of the things around us may we also see the wonders of the Creator's hand as well. After all it was He who put all things into place in the first place.
