Over a period of time I have travelled a few times to another city that is along the coast. It is amazing how you can get to know the route that you take very well. And the more that you travel along the road the less you have to think about the road that you are taking. Instead you take in the countryside and enjoy the view that you see.
And that is the way that it seems to be until you have problems along the road. This was the case with a trip that I have done just the last weekend. I know the way very well, but for a section of the road the standard in which it is being kept has left a lot to be desired. In fact there are road signs telling you to slow down quite a bit and that you have a speed limit of 40km for a few kms of road. Which reminds me that a path that is well used needs to be maintained at all times. If it is not maintained that it will begin to break down very quickly.
So what is the lesson that we should be learning from all of this? Just as we need to maintain the roads that we travel on so maybe we also need to maintain the phone line between us and heaven. That we need to remember that we need to keep up the contact with the One who made us. If we do this it will be a lot easier to make contact when things in our lives go a little wrong.
Something for us all to ponder at this time. Until next time may you each be kept safe in His care.
