As I write this parable we are having an interesting time in the household. The two cats have been hovering around us and wondering as to when things are going to take a turn for the better. Mind you, I fail to see what their problem is when they are being very well looked after. But the point is that they are always looking out for more.
But it has me thinking. Can we be the same at times? That even though things are going well, we are always looking out for more. We are never satisfied with what has been given to us. We are looking for the next wonderful thing to happen and wonder why it does not happen when we ask. And at the same time we are not very grateful for what we already have. We tell the cats to be patient and are not patient ourselves.
When you stop and think about it there is a lesson for us all to consider and to appreciate. That we are grateful for what we have and give thanks to our Father in Heaven for what He does. And you can always start with doing that even this day.
