It never ceases to amaze me how much the animal kingdom know. No matter the type of creature you may be considering, the point remains that they know a lot more to what we give credit. I am reminded of truth that the gap between us and the animal world is a lot less to what we give credit.
I think of the sparrows that come every morning. They know as soon as they see the front blind open that food will be arriving soon and you see them get all excited about it. And then when danger comes their way they are quick to call out and they know that if we are near that we will come to their aide. I remember that we used to feed magpies at one point and they used to come quickly when we walked out the door and would sit on a ledge and wait for their tucker. I remember one special day when I walked out the door and two magpies sat down at my feet and I was given the most special duet possible. No two people could have matched what I heard that day.
But there is a lesson to be learned in all of this. Just as the animals know who is there for them and who they can trust, have we found this secret for ourselves? Do we know that we have a Father in Heaven who we can turn to when we are in distress?
Something for us all to ponder at this time. Until next time may you each be kept safe in His care.
