It all seems so simple and it is easy to do. But once it is done, it does not mean that the job is done for good. For give it a week and the lawn is grown again. And I must admit that sometimes I do wonder as to why we face this task each week. But when we finish the job and see the end result, I must admit that it does look very good and one is happy to do it again next week.
I cannot help but wonder as to whether you can relate to this. Are there things in your life that you wish that you only had to do the once and could forget about it forever. I am afraid that there are many things that we all may wish that we had only to do the once but it does not work this way at all. And the fact is that this also applies to knowing the One who put all things into place. To know Him means that we have to spend time with Him on a regular basis. How many of us are willing to do that? Not many of us, I'm afraid. But just as a mowed lawn looks great, so spending time with your Maker will become a special time that you would not want to miss either.
But here is the challenge. Just as you have to put time aside to mow the lawn, so you also need to put time aside to spend with the One above who put all things into place. And just as no one can do the lawn for you, so no one else can do the other process for you either. But when you remember to put time aside for both, the reward will be a special one and you will be pleased with the end result.
Something for us all to ponder at this time. Until next time may you each be kept safe in His care.
