The other day I was talking to my Mother about her childhood and I was amazed as to how different things were to what we know today. Back when my Mother was a child there was no such thing as electricity or cars for that matter. Living on a farm the cows were all milked by hand. And for my Mother, even though she may have been young, she would get up early and do her bit by helping with the milking too.
As she was talking about her early life and I thought about what we see in the world today, we have come a long way. Now we have cars driving on highways. We see the news on a television that tells us what is happening around the world nearly as quick as it is happening. And instead of writing on a slate we now have laptops that make it all so much quicker than ever before. Yes, it can be said that we have come a long way.
And as we take it all in we could ask the question as to what lays ahead. What will be the next new thing that will grab the attention of the world? At first glance it all appears to be an exciting future…but is it really? Yes we may have come a long way but when you think of all that is happening it all becomes a little hard to understand. But there is one thing I do know. The best is yet to come. No…not on this planet as we know it, but rather it will be the most exciting thing of all, and that will be the moment when our creator comes the second time to take us home to heaven. What a day that will be. And you can be a part of that too….if you wish.
Something for us all to ponder at this time. Until next time may you each be kept safe in His care.
