I thought that you would enjoy this parable about what is happening at the moment. Our cats are having a competition between each other about a certain spot in the house. The interesting thing about this particular position is the fact that one can see all that is happening in the main areas of the house without any trouble.
But here is the problem. There is only room for one cat and we have two of them. So what is one going to do when the other is in residence on the back of that chair? So far there seems to be tolerance for each other to be in location. But the question has to be asked….But for how long will there be forgiveness for each other hogging that spot in the house?
It is interesting to watch them taking turns and the looks and expressions that they give out. And for the black one the expressions are very clear. As she sits there and looks around her you can clearly see that this is a cat that is taking bragging rights about her position. You would have to think that she is saying that she has come up in the world and that she has now arrived.
I guess that the question can be asked as to what we can learn from all of this? I believe that the answer is very simple. That we all need to learn to share. And if we could only do that, then the world would be a better place. We can all want to be top at something but how much better that we look out for the other person and lift them up as well. And when you think about it, it is this principle that we find in the Bible. That we put the other person first and not desire the top position for ourselves.
