I was on the train the other day and I had a conversation that would prove to be very special. Sitting opposite me was a young lady who was on her way to work at Melbourne. As we chatted I would find that she was new to Australia and that she had only been in the country a couple of months. She had come from India and was very much enjoying the experience of being in a new land. Before we left I made a point of saying welcome to your new home and that I hoped that everything would go well.
The smile that came on her face said so much. It meant a lot to her that someone had taken a moment just to say welcome. When we arrived at Southern Cross Station it was with a smile that she left and went on her way to work. Just simple words and yet how much they would mean to her.
So why would I share this with you? What is the message we can take from this? It is a fact that we all like to feel that we are special. That we are welcomed. And in this moment I cannot help but think of that day when we all will receive, by the grace of God, the words of welcome when we all get to heaven. Now that will be a special day for those who are chosen to be a part of that journey back to heaven.
Maybe something for us all to ponder at this time. Until next time may you each be kept safe in His care.
