Over the last few weeks my wife and I have been watching a program and it has been very interesting. We have been watching a group of dancers as they go through different phases of developing into a team that could compete at a high level. In watching the program we saw them grow in what they did and in the end they would go on and win at an international level. It was all very exciting.
But after it was all over we watched as they were jumping around on the stage in excitement and then one of the young people asked another in the group a question. Now that we have won this trophy….now what? And for the young dancer that was standing there the reality came to her that what they were wanting to do, they had now achieved and that they had not thought much beyond that. And in that moment the win felt a little flat. After all the big question is really; what comes next?
As I took in the moment it made me appreciate anew the fact that there are many moments in life when it all can become a little bit hollow and empty. Sure you may achieve the goal that you seek but after the moment has gone by it all becomes a little bit of a letdown. Which means that we are now faced with a big question. But what is there that will not let us down? How can we avoid that empty feeling? The answer is found in only One person and it is up to us each one to seek that special One who will never let us down.
