It is interesting but I do sometimes wonder if the cats would miss me when I am away. The reason for this is that I know that they give all their attention to my wife and not to me. Sure they like the fact that I am around and that I buy their food but the attention which they give is all for Ruth. They watch her every move and never let her out of their sight when she is in the house.
The other weekend I was away and this subject came up when I got home. Did the cats miss me in any way? It was interesting that Ruth made the comment that the answer to the question is very much yes. That the black one was concerned that I was not home and that she missed the game that I played with her each evening. And the grey one kept an eye on the front waiting for the car to pull up. That while they never showed it to me the point is that I was missed by them both.
As I appreciated this point it made me appreciate anew that we are all special to someone. That we remember that we are loved and that there is no reason for anyone to feel alone. Now that is good news to have. But better yet is the thought that we are all very special to the one who made us all in the first place. Now that is good news indeed!
