It is interesting how that when you go away somewhere that you are always eager to get home when the car points itself in the direction of where you live. It seems that the car knows that it is heading for home and the trip goes that little bit quicker. I remember that when talking to the older folk that they seem to remember how that the horse had the same feeling. It was heading for home and the barn where it would be warmer and where there was feed to be had.
And I guess that we could ask the question of what is so special about home. I guess that for all home is that special place where we all feel safe and that we can relax. It is a place of refuge and we know that we are safe from the cares of the world. It is a place where we all want to be and we long to be in that place.
It reminds me of another place. Can you imagine as to where that place may be? It is a place where we will know what it is like to be safe and where we will have no worries from the pain of sin and sadness. Now that is a home I want to go to. That is a place where I want to be. And the offer is given to us all that if we are faithful and true we can enjoy the wonderful and safe home that is being made for us each one. Now that is something worth looking forward to.
