It is amazing how you think that time has no end and that there is nothing to worry about. And then something happens that reminds you that life does have an end and you do not know what or how it may end.
Growing up in the country you think that all who you knew will be happy and last forever. And that idea is fine when you are young. But it is amazing how the years creep by and then you find that things begin to fall apart and you are all getting that little bit older. This happened to me in very recent times when I found out about the health of a friend that I have known all my life. And in the process appreciate anew that we are all getting that little bit older. It all becomes a little sad as you think that the memory you have of them "back then" is different to what it may be "right now."
So what can I learn from all of this? How important it is that we do not take each day for granted, but that we appreciate the small things of life as well the special blessings that can come our way. More than that is the fact that we need to always look up to the one who gave us life knowing that He alone also holds the future and that in Him we are assured of a wonderful future so long as we hold fast to His hand.
Something for us all to ponder at this time. Until next time may you each be kept safe in His care.
