It is amazing how little things matter to people. And it does not take much to make a person smile and to be happy. I was in a shop recently and the truth must be told that I do go there every week. And with the passing of time you do get to know the ones who are serving. I have always made it a point to be willing to take a moment and to chat. And with the passing of time they have responded with taking a moment to chat back. I guess that you may be tempted to ask the question as to why one would bother. After all they are there to do a job.
But it was on this day that the person who served me made an observation and it was an interesting one. That being that how they appreciated the fact that I took a moment to talk with them. That they took note of who they were serving and the attitude of those who they were meeting. And the point of it all was that they every much appreciated the ones who were friendly and were willing to treat them well.
So a thought for us all to ponder. Do we take the time to smile? Do we take the time to be polite with those who we meet and to treat them well? And in the process remember that they are human and are worthy of respect. You know, it reminds me of the golden rule that is in the Bible. That you treat others the way that you would like to be treated. What do you think?
Something for us all to ponder at this time. Until next time may you each be kept safe in His care.
