A few days ago I saw a program where I learned a new thing that I did not know. It was about a person in history and that being King Robert the Bruce of Scotland. On the program it brought out the fact that at the end of his life that he requested that his heart be removed and buried in a certain place. And this was done as he requested. In all of this it shows his love for his country and where his heart really was.
While it makes for interesting history it also makes me ponder a rather serious question. And the question being as to where is my heart? What do I see as being important to me? As I get a little bit older I begin to appreciate that life is rather short and that it can be taken away very quickly. That there is no certainty that we can have even tomorrow and that we can rest with ease. Keeping all of that in mind I then begin to wonder as to where my heart really is. I am reminded of the thought in the Bible that where your treasure is so is your heart. And really the safest place to have treasure is up in heaven. The point is that no one can steal what God has ready for those who believe in Him. And when you read about what He has for those who are faithful to Him, it all becomes rather a special place to look forward to.
So for today I have a question for you to ponder. Is it on the things around this place or are you looking above? Are you looking at something that will one day fade away or are you looking for that place where nothing will ever break in. And when we all get there, by God's grace, it will be special to enjoy it all for eternity. Now that will be special for us all. What do you think?
Something for us all to ponder at this time. Until next time may you each be kept safe in His care.
