The end of a chapter and the beginning of a new one.
It has been a while since we have spoken here. You may remember that we used to have this space that was called “Glover Hill Tales.” And you may remember that we used to talk about the two cats that we had. Sadly they are now both passed away and we miss them greatly. But it is amazing what you can learn. And out of this experience we have learnt a beautiful lesson. Marlin was always the one who took No 1 position in all things. But he was the one who died first. This meant that Salmon was all alone. But she it was who would become very special as her character was then able to develop more fully. And in the process we found that in Salmon we really did have a beautiful cat. And as she got older in years we gave to her much more attention. When she passed away she was just over 17 years old.
There is a beautiful lesson to be learned here. I am reminded of the words that say that the last shall be first. And with this cat that was very much the case. She was very much the second fiddle when Marlin was around but when he passed away at 13.5 years she would become our sole cat until her passing. And when you think about this fact, how we can all take hope from this. That there will come a time when we all shall be made new, if we take hold of the opportunity that is given. And there shall be no more playing second fiddle. But instead we shall all be special. And remember that you are special too. We have two new cats. And we have learnt to appreciate them for what they are. And yes, they are special. But they will never replace the two that passed away. They were special.
So what is my point. To remember that you are special. You are a very special person who was made very special. And no person can replace you. No one can take you place today or ever. As you consider this thought and as you read the parables for the future I pray that they will remind you of the special person that you are.
